Helpful tips and advice from the reflective insulation experts.

Having the right tools and fixings for your installation is important, so here are some helpful tips and advice as to what to use.

Screws

  • Type: various types of screws can be used when installing YBS products, however some are better than others, here are some of the things to look out for:

    • Shank – Thinner/reduced shank thickness reduces the risk of wood split and the internal layers of our insulation from binding to the screw.
    • Point – Reduced/no start up point reduces the risk of the internal layers of our insulation from binding to the screw.
    • Thread – Twin thread increases the speed or inserting and removing the screw.
    • Material – this should reflect the location of the installation (internal or external)
  • Size: available in various sizes, this depends on the project requirements (such of weight and depth of materials).
