Multifoil insulation: sustainable & made in the UK

In this article, we introduce you to SuperQuilt Lite and BreatherQuilt. The first is suitable for roofs, walls, and floors, while the second is used to insulate pitched roofs on the outside.
SuperQuilt Lite: 2-in-1 solution
SuperQuilt Lite is a prime example of the great care we take at YBS to provide customers with the best value for their money, expanding our product range to cover every budget and make energy-efficient homes affordable for everyone.
More specifically, we manufacture SuperQuilt Lite with metalised polyethylene terephthalate rather than aluminium to make our product more cost-effective while keeping it durable (metalised polyethylene terephthalate has a lifespan of over 60 years) and high-performing (with an R-Value of up to 2.07 m²K/W, which is equivalent to 90 mm of Mineral Wool Insulation).
This 9-layer multifoil insulation has a 2-in-1 insulating vapour control layer to stop the passage of moisture, reducing the risk of condensation. Additional advantages include:

– Can be installed easily, because it is flexible and lightweight, and without using PPE

BreatherQuilt: 3-in-1 solution
Just like SuperQuilt Lite, BreatherQuilt is the result of our strong R&D and innovation. Designed to eliminate the need for a standalone breather membrane, BreatherQuilt is a 3-in-1 waterproof, breathable, and reflective aluminium foil insulating roofing membrane that consists of no less than 11 layers yet is only 40 mm thick. It ensures up to 76% reduction in heat loss and effectively deals with condensation and all forms of energy transfer.

– Thermally efficient, with an R-Value of 1.62 m²K/W (equivalent to 75 mm of Mineral Wool Insulation)
– Sustainable, containing 72% recycled materials (its core consists of recycled plastic polyester wadding)
– Cost-effective: because of its waterproofing, breathable and thermally efficient characteristics, it eliminates the need for multiple competitor products
– Easy to install because it is flexible, lightweight, requires no PPE, and has a built-in double-sided self-adhesive tape
